Hello! My name is Ms. Harper and this blog will be a catalog of my writing for the 2013-2014 school year. I have only blogged once before, so I am excited to learn more about the process. My major writing goal for the year is to improve my knowledge of argument writing and to create engaging, thought provoking lessons to help my students improve their argument writing as well. As an English teacher, I also love to read. My favorite book is Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver because I think she is truly a master of using imagery to evoke emotion.

Outside of education I enjoy swimming and running, as well as playing with my puppy, Kona. He is the happiest little puppy and joy to come home to every day.

In closing, here is a quote that has stuck with me since the moment I heard it. I like it so much that I put it up in my classroom for all my students to see. I think it's crucial that we all be open-minded, both in the classroom, and in our daily lives.
